The kremlin is introducing quotas on foreign films

The russian dictator vladimir putin proposed introducing quotas on foreign films.

▫️During a meeting with minister of culture olga lyubimova, he referred to complaints from filmmakers, while the minister claimed that russians supposedly grew fond of domestic cinema. The ministry has already announced the creation of new film scripts about “their own,” which are intended to “correctly” portray the war on screen.

This sets the stage for blocking any films or series that do not align with propaganda narratives, with the relevant decision to be made by the russian ministry of culture.

Thus, russia is gradually restoring the soviet model of state censorship. “Correct” narratives about the war become part of the propaganda machine, while alternative viewpoints are banned.

Previously, the Center reported that the russian state duma is preparing legislative changes that will require social networks and online cinemas to remove content that “discredits traditional spiritual and moral values.”
