State Duma wants to grant amnesty to criminals who fought against Ukraine
In a draft resolution, members of the Russian State Duma propose to exempt from criminal liability for committing crimes of minor and medium severity those who survived the war against Ukraine.
From the very beginning of the full-scale invasion, the Russian authorities have been actively involving criminals in the war. At the same time, Russian propaganda claims that war veterans are the “new elite of Russia.” Now, the State Duma is making members of the so-called “special military operation” almost “untouchable” for justice.
In this way, by forcing criminals to earn an “indulgence” in the war, the Kremlin hopes to solve the problem of manpower shortages.
