russian stock market crashes

After kremlin refused a meeting between putin and President of Ukraine Volodymyr Zelenskyy, russian stocks fell to their lowest level in the past two weeks.

▫️In particular, the MOEX index dropped by 2.3%, with the market losing $1.24 billion in capitalization. The biggest losses were suffered by companies that had counted on a “thaw” in relations with the West: gazprom (-3.5%), aeroflot (-4.45%), novatek (-4.3%), severstal (-3.8%), rosneft (-2%), among others.

▫️kremlin’s aggressive rhetoric deepens uncertainty, and investors are losing faith in the possibility of a “peaceful settlement.”

Financial markets clearly sense the real cost of war: no prospects, only a dead end and decline.
