How the war against Ukraine leaves Russia without a workforce
Due to the war against Ukraine, russia is now speaking of a “catastrophic shortage of personnel” in civilian sectors of the economy.
▫️This issue is being reported across industries such as manufacturing, agriculture, and energy. However, the construction sector is suffering the most. According to russian experts, in 5–7 years, there may simply be no one left in russia to build anything.
The full-scale invasion of Ukraine has led to a significant outflow of labor — either to fight in the war or to work in defense enterprises — sharply worsening the workforce shortage across many sectors. The construction industry feels this shortage most acutely, despite an unprecedented market decline, shrinking volumes of construction, widespread bankruptcies of developers, and mass layoffs.
All attempts by russian propaganda and vladimir putin personally to reassure the public with tales of “unprecedented growth” in the russian economy are in vain — the reality cannot be hidden. Each additional day of this aggressive war brings the russian economy closer to a deep crisis.
