▫️ The russian minister’s statement is a classic example of the “Potemkin plans” favored by russian propaganda. Building a metro—an endeavor requiring billions in investment and complex logistics—appears completely detached from the region’s current reality. The occupying authorities cannot even meet the population’s basic needs: Donetsk lacks stable water supply, infrastructure is decaying, and the streets are overflowing with garbage.
The goal of such statements is not genuine development, but rather an attempt to distract people from the catastrophic consequences of russian occupation and keep them trapped in a web of false promises and illusions.
