«Unity of peoples» as a cover for destroying Ukrainian identity

This time, the head of the russian occupation administration in the occupied part of Donetsk region, denis pushilin, spoke against the backdrop of the systematic elimination of everything Ukrainian in the temporarily occupied territories about «Donbas being open to different cultures and religions» and youth events that are allegedly intended to promote «unity». The «SVOI» project became a separate element of this large-scale propaganda campaign. Its goal is to impose a russian identity through stories about the «unity of peoples» and «shared values».
In reality, the occupation authorities continue their policy of forced russification, systematic suppression of Ukrainian identity and persecution of dissenters. At the same time, propaganda is trying to present Ukraine’s temporarily occupied territories as a space of «unity of peoples» and «cultural diversity».
But this is not «preserving peace» or «mutual understanding» — it is an attempt to legitimise the occupation.
The Center has already reported on another propaganda event organised by the occupiers — the «russia is the home of peoples» dictation, which had no place for the Ukrainian language.
