The Center has identified a new AI campaign by russia on TikTok aimed at emotional manipulation and sowing division within Ukrainian society.
▫️ Videos are circulating on the platform featuring “Ukrainian women” speaking extremely emotionally — with tears in their eyes, hysterics and shouting — about the situation in the country, including mobilization, corruption and other issues.
▫️ The visuals and audio are deliberately built around excessive emotionality. The campaign’s creators are relying on empathy and human compassion, attempting to use emotions to suppress viewers’ critical thinking.
All of these videos were generated using artificial intelligence. This has been confirmed by analysis through specialized content verification services. The videos are disseminated through TikTok accounts that systematically publish similar AI-generated content. The mass production of deepfakes and their coordinated distribution is a typical hallmark of russian information operations. The Center has repeatedly identified similar enemy campaigns.
The goal of the campaign is to artificially create a sense of chaos and hopelessness, undermine the will to resist, and provoke internal conflicts within society. The enemy exploits sensitive issues, turning them into a weapon of psychological pressure.
