russian fake about «Europe’s demands to mobilise women in Ukraine»
russian propaganda has launched another wave of disinformation about the alleged preparations for the forced mobilisation of women in Ukraine.
This time, the source of the fake was russia’s foreign intelligence service. The russian intelligence agency claims that Europe is allegedly «demanding that Kyiv begin mobilising Ukrainian women», while EU foreign policy chief Kaja Kallas allegedly called this «a step in the right direction».
In reality, the forced mobilisation of women in Ukraine is neither taking place nor planned. No EU or Ukrainian official has made such demands or put forward such initiatives. There are no bills or decisions in Ukrainian legislation concerning the mobilisation of Ukrainian women. Women join the Defence Forces exclusively on a voluntary basis.
russia systematically spreads fakes and manipulations about the «mobilisation of women» in Ukraine. The russian foreign intelligence service should also not be regarded as a reliable source of information. The agency regularly spreads such «insider information», none of which has ever been confirmed.
The enemy’s goal is to divide Ukrainian society, fuel panic inside the country and discredit Ukraine’s cooperation with its European partners.
