ru-propaganda continues to lie about the alleged “crimes of the AFU”
russians are continuing a campaign to spread disinformation about supposed crimes committed by Ukrainian soldiers against the civilian population of Donbas.
▫️ In particular, russian propagandist resources are circulating claims that Ukrainian troops in Pokrovsk allegedly “forcibly held elderly people as a human shield.” As “evidence,” they use a video featuring a civilian man who is currently in the temporarily occupied territories.
Propagandists provide no proof to support this story. Moreover, the man in the video does not even claim that he personally witnessed the events he describes. He merely repeats what others allegedly told him.
The spread of such unsubstantiated videos — in most of which civilians who have ended up under the control of russian forces retell rumors and hearsay — is a typical ru-propaganda tactic, widely used in attempts to discredit Ukrainian military personnel and to shift attention away from the numerous war crimes committed by russians in the occupied territories.
