Instead of “prosperity”, occupiers are again raising tariffs for Ukraine’s TOT
In the cities of Zaporizhzhia region occupied by russia, the occupation administration has once again raised public transport fares.
▫️In the occupied Berdyansk, compared to the 2023 rates, the fare for cash payments has already doubled.
A similar situation with tariffs for essential services exists in other occupied regions. Recently, in Donetsk region, the occupation authorities increased water supply tariffs by almost a third. This is despite the fact that in many settlements in occupied Donbas, water is supplied for only a few hours a day, and sometimes only for a few days.
This reality sharply contrasts with russian propaganda’s claims trying to create an image of “thriving new regions of russia” and “happy and prosperous life under russian rule.” However, the true situation in the temporarily occupied territories (TOT) is one of destroyed infrastructure, rising tariffs, problems with water supply and medicine, and constant terror against the population by the occupiers.
