Fake ad comparing salaries in the Defense Forces to a Netflix subscription
A fake ad comparing salaries in the Defense Forces to a Netflix subscription is circulating in Ukraine’s information space.
The ad promotes contracts for men aged 18–24 to serve in the Defense Forces of Ukraine and claims the contract salary is “comparable to the cost of a Netflix subscription.” A related image has also been widely shared.
After verifying the information with all responsible authorities — including the Ministry of Defense — the Center reports that no state institutions have published such ads. This may be part of an information influence campaign targeting the “18–24 contract” initiative.
Disrupting the “18–24 contract” campaign is part of russia’s broader efforts to weaken Ukraine’s defense capacity.
