ru-propagandists will train foreigners in AI tools

The russian state agency “rossotrudnichestvo,” which promotes russia’s interests abroad, has announced the launch of another “training program” for media professionals from the Global South under the guise of cultural exchange.

▫️ The courses will take place in moscow and target journalists, editors, and bloggers from Brazil, India, South Africa, Egypt, and Tunisia. Participants are promised workshops by specialists from the propaganda outlet Sputnik. A key feature of the program is its focus on the use of artificial intelligence technologies in the media sphere.

▫️ This initiative, like similar “educational” programs, is part of russia’s systematic “soft power” policy aimed at expanding influence in Asia, Africa, and Latin America.

In this way, moscow is building a network of loyal journalists abroad, cultivating their allegiance under the guise of professional training. The kremlin’s main objective is to establish a stable channel for disseminating its narratives through “local voices” that are more trusted by regional audiences.
