Occupiers admit policy of displacing local population in the TOT

The kremlin-appointed head of occupied Donetsk region, denys pushylin, has effectively confirmed russia’s strategy of colonizing occupied territories.

▫️ He described the mass purchase of housing by russians in the temporarily occupied parts of Donetsk region as a “natural trend.” Alongside this statement, statistics on occupied Mariupol were released: about 75% of real estate buyers in the city are newcomers from russia, while only a quarter of transactions involve local residents.

▫️ This process is taking place amid the large-scale seizure of property from lawful owners under the pretext of combating “ownerless” real estate. According to available data, in Mariupol and Melitopol alone, occupiers have appropriated around 4,000 residential properties. The kremlin has created a looting pipeline: Ukrainian property is confiscated and then resold or handed over to newcomers from russia.

Such statements by occupation authorities directly confirm a deliberate policy of displacing the Ukrainian population from temporarily occupied territories. For the first time, the occupation administration has openly acknowledged that its housing policy prioritizes “investors” from russia over local residents.
