The President of Ukraine Discussed Pathways to a Fair Peace with European Leaders
During his visit to Brussels, Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelenskyy participated in a European Council meeting and held a series of meetings with European leaders.
▫️ In particular, the Head of the Ukrainian State met with President of the European Commission Ursula von der Leyen, President of the European Council António Costa, President of France Emmanuel Macron, and Federal Chancellor of Austria Christian Stocker. He also had an audience with His Majesty King Philippe of the Belgians and met with NATO Secretary General Mark Rutte.
The key topic of discussion was the steps toward achieving a fair and sustainable peace and securing reliable security guarantees for Ukraine and the whole of Europe. At the European Council meeting, the President of Ukraine proposed the initial steps to reach a “fair and lasting peace”.
▫️ In coordination with its partners, Ukraine continues to work on a plan that will outline a shared vision for ending the war and strengthening the security of both Ukraine and Europe.
