The study visit of the Center for Countering Disinformation to Germany took place

On 9-10 April, the Center for Countering Disinformation, with the support of the European Union Advisory Mission to Ukraine, conducted a study visit to the Federal Republic of Germany, where it met with representatives of government institutions responsible for media literacy and countering disinformation.
During the meeting with representatives of the German Ministry of the Interior and Community, the issues of current and future cooperation, mutual information exchange, international standards for monitoring and analysing information, and legislative support for countering disinformation and harmful information influence were discussed. Agreements were reached to hold consultations at the operational level, which will help improve the speed of response to current threats and develop joint mechanisms for resilience to hostile information influence.
During the meeting with the representatives of the Federal Agency for Civil Education, the parties discussed further joint work on countering disinformation about Ukraine in the German information space, participation in international events and creation of joint information products.
The analytical report “Information Influence of the Russian Federation in Germany” was presented to German government officials. In it, the Centre analysed the country’s information space to identify Russian information influence campaigns, destructive narratives, key figures subordinated to the Kremlin propaganda machine, and the most used tools.
Colleagues from the German Federal Foreign Office presented tools for analysing the information space and informed about the means of countering information threats. The parties exchanged experience and agreed to develop an algorithm for continuous information exchange and dialogue at the operational level.
The study visit to Germany will help ensure effective resistance to the enemy in the information war.
