Leadership of the Center met with representatives of the European Commission

On May 20, 2026, a working meeting was held between the leadership of the Center for Countering Disinformation and representatives of the European Commission’s Service for Foreign Policy Instruments.

The meeting was attended by Service Director Peter Wagner, Regional Programme Manager at the EU Delegation in Vienna Erik Galvin, and Crisis Response Planner in Brussels Nadiia Vertebna.

Representing the Center were its Head, officer of the Ukrainian Defense Forces Andrii Kovalenko, Deputy Head Anait Khoperiia, as well as Head of the Department for Countering Information Threats to National Security Kyrylo Viktorov and his deputy Daryna Harib.

The main topic of the dialogue was strengthening strategic partnership, coordinating joint actions, and implementing future projects in the field of countering foreign information manipulation and interference (FIMI). The parties discussed in detail the tools for operational detection and neutralization of hostile information threats, which today have a cross-border nature and pose a threat to the common security of Ukraine and the EU.

Particular attention was paid to developing effective crisis response to hybrid challenges and strengthening overall information resilience.

Head of the Center A. Kovalenko emphasized that combining Ukraine’s unique practical experience in countering Russian propaganda with the resources of European partners makes it possible to create a reliable shield for protecting the democratic space.

The leadership of the Center expressed sincere gratitude to colleagues from the European Commission for the constructive dialogue, systematic support, and readiness to act jointly on the information front.
