Fake about “Ukrainian from CNN” who steals alcohol
russian propagandists are spreading another fake with an alleged apology from CNN for its “Ukrainian journalist” who allegedly stole bottles of wine during the assassination attempt on US President Donald Trump.
As evidence, the propagandists cite a screenshot of an article by the British publication Mirror with an apology from CNN for its Ukrainian colleague. The Mirror publication did not publish such an article, the screenshot provided is a fake.
CNN did not express any apologies. Moreover, the American media note that the identity of the woman whose video was widely shared on social networks after the assassination attempt on Donald Trump could not be established.
Such techniques are typical of russian information operations. The enemy creates fake videos under the brands of reputable international media to give the fakes the appearance of authenticity.
The purpose of such posts is to discredit Ukrainians abroad and undermine trust in Ukraine in the international arena.
