A New russian Information Operation Using AI-Generated TikTok Videos
russian propaganda has launched another information operation on TikTok using AI-generated videos aimed at undermining Ukraine’s mobilization efforts and weakening its defense capability.
▫️In particular, videos are appearing with fully AI-generated characters — “young men” and “soldiers” who allegedly left the country illegally and encourage others to follow their example. There are also AI videos featuring “elderly women” praising those who abandoned service or left the country.
▫️The logic behind such content is clear: artificial intelligence allows propagandists to mass-produce emotionally charged stories that influence young people — TikTok’s core audience. The enemy seeks to create the impression that “everyone is leaving” and “everyone is running away.”
The goal of the campaign is to demoralize the military and convince civilians that serving in the army “makes no sense.” This is a classic enemy attempt to weaken mobilization potential and divide society.
