Russia once again demonstrates that it is not ready for peace
russian foreign minister sergey lavrov, when asked about russia’s “new approach to Ukraine,” stated that russia is preparing “surprises” regarding the conflict resolution. This happened after a meeting with U.S. Secretary of State Marco Rubio, during which possible steps for peaceful resolution of the war were discussed.
However, lavrov refused to disclose the details of these proposals and merely reiterated his inflexible position, stating that russia is only willing to discuss its own conditions, rejecting any attempts at constructive dialogue.
▫️ In addition, lavrov claimed that he provided American partners with quotes from Ukrainian politicians allegedly calling for the “destruction of russians.” This is another element of kremlin manipulation aimed at reinforcing the propaganda rhetoric about supposed “terrorism” from Ukraine. Such tactics further escalate the conflict and show that russia is not seeking peace, but rather looking for new ways to justify its aggressive actions.
Instead of seeking real paths to ceasefire, russia continues to manipulate the international community. kremlin is not interested in peace but in buying time to continue the war and maintain its aggressive ambitions.
