russia intensifies propaganda in africa through “russian houses”
In three African countries — Angola, Mali, and Algeria — new “russian houses” are planned to be opened. As a result, their number on the African continent will increase to 14.
As reported by the Center, “rossotrudnichestvo” is a russian state agency aimed at spreading russian propaganda worldwide through so-called cultural centers. The European Union has imposed sanctions on this organization.
Through the activities of the “russian houses,” moscow primarily plans to strengthen anti-Western sentiments in African countries, as well as to spread its propaganda and influence in order to gain access to the continent’s resources. Additionally, by increasing activity in this region, kremlin aims to reduce the pressure of Western sanctions and gain political support from local leaders on the international stage.
Earlier, it was reported about the opening of new embassies in Africa and the creation of a new department for partnerships with Africa in the russian ministry of foreign affairs.
