kremlin is once again trying to scare the world with claims of “Ukrainian biological weapons.” At a legal forum in saint petersburg, irina yarova, deputy chair of the russian state duma known for her repressive bills, urged “lawyers of the world” not to remain silent about the “pentagon’s development of biological weapons” in Ukraine.
▫️The fake stories about “biological weapons” and “combat mosquitoes” are part of a russian disinformation campaign aimed at frightening the global community with the threat of uncontrolled use and spread of biopathogens. Such lies have been spread by russian propaganda since the very beginning of the full-scale invasion, as the Center has repeatedly reported. Both ordinary propagandists and high-ranking russian officials are involved in spreading these falsehoods.
With these fakes, the kremlin primarily seeks to influence its own population to justify the war against Ukraine. Despite their utter absurdity, russia exploits the fears of its people, attempting to discredit the Ukrainian government with fabrications about “combat mosquitoes.”
