Fake about “crash of 304 Ukrainian drones in European countries”
russian information resources, citing the Institute for the Study of War (ISW), are spreading false claims about the alleged “crash of 304 Ukrainian UAVs” on the territory of the Baltic states and Finland over a three-month period.
▫️ Such posts are accompanied by a video stylized as a report by a well-known European media outlet. It claims that the authorities of these countries are allegedly concealing numerous incidents involving Ukrainian drones crashing, causing destruction and casualties.
▫️ In reality, no such video exists on the official platforms of the media outlet whose logo was used to create the fake. The video is entirely fabricated. ISW has also made no such statements and has not published any related reports.
The use of fabricated reports featuring the logos of international media and institutions is a typical tool of the russian disinformation network “Matryoshka,” which systematically creates fakes to discredit Ukraine and its partners.
Such disinformation efforts aim to shift responsibility for the failures of russian air defense onto other states and to justify russia’s hybrid attacks and aggressive rhetoric against Northern European countries.
Earlier, the Operational Command of the Polish Armed Forces officially refuted claims by russian propaganda alleging that Poland had provided its airspace for drone attacks against russian territory.
