In his video meeting with representatives of the “business russia” organization, putin threw out loud figures about “GDP growth” and praised businesses for their “resilience in the face of sanctions.”
▫️ However, behind these glamorous statements lies a different reality: things are only going well for the enterprises that are fed by the defense budget. Currently, russia’s economy is largely sustained by military contracts, while most industries are declining under the pressure of sanctions, high taxes, and expensive loans.

But in reality, kremlin has turned the economy into a tool of war — draining its resources and denying any chance for development. While the war continues, russia’s economic problems are only deepening — and no statements from the screen will change this.
