The Telegraph: Ukraine develops Sting drone to intercept Iranian Shahed-136

The Telegraph published an article about the development of a Ukrainian drone designed to intercept Iranian Shahed-136 drones.

The main points of the article:

▫️ The new drone, called Sting, is capable of intercepting Shaheds, flying at speeds of over 160 km/h and at an altitude of about 3 km.
▫️ The drone will be controlled by an operator using VR goggles and will have an artificial intelligence targeting system.
▫️ russia produces more than 6,000 Shahed drones per year, launching 30 to 80 of them daily towards Ukraine, which poses a significant challenge to Ukrainian air defense.
▫️ The cost of Sting is significantly lower than that of Shahed drones.
▫️ The use of the new drones will allow Ukraine to conserve its stockpile of air-defence missiles.

The development of these drones is another step towards strengthening Ukraine’s defense capabilities and increasing its technological advantage in a prolonged war.

The Center has previously reported on the development of the Ukrainian military-industrial complex, in particular on the success of long-range UAVs that strike military targets in russia, which limits russia’s ability to attack Ukraine.
