The Center participated in the tenth Lviv Media Forum

On May 17, 2024, the Center for Countering Disinformation, a working body of the National Security and Defense Council of Ukraine took part in the tenth Lviv Media Forum (LMF), which took place from May 16 to 18.

This year’s key topic of the Lviv Media Forum was “Language for understanding: searching for meanings in a polarized world”.

Anayit Khoperiya, Deputy Head of the Center, spoke at the panel “Are countries unable to fight disinformation?”.

А. Khoperiya spoke about modern tools of russian propaganda, ways and methods of spreading disinformation. She shared the Center’s experience in identifying, informing and responding to information threats, cooperation with colleagues and partners from government agencies and international organizations, and described the Center’s educational programs to increase media literacy and public resistance to disinformation.

The Deputy Head of the CCD emphasized the need for a comprehensive fight against disinformation, as well as the implementation of international experience in the Ukrainian legislative field.

Over the past 10 years, LMF has brought together more than 5,500 participants; 600 speakers from 50 countries took part in lectures, discussions, workshops and debates.
