Several pro-russian Telegram channels that provide media support for russia’s war against Ukraine have posted information about the obtaining of a “complete and accurate list of coordinates of railway bridges in western Ukraine” by the russians. At the same time, it is noted that “the bridge-bombing is going to happen”.
However, information on the location of Ukraine’s railway infrastructure, including viaducts and bridges, has never been a state secret and is available to the public.
The Center’s experts do not rule out that such information injections may be part of a hostile information and psychological operation aimed at stirring up panic among Ukrainians in the western regions. However, given the threats of attacks on NATO convoys carrying weapons for Ukraine, the possibility of such a plan being implemented cannot be completely dismissed.
