Why gauleiter Balytsky started “giving away land” to war veterans

The Russian governor of the occupied part of Zaporizhzhia region, Yevhen Balytsky, said that participants in the war against Ukraine will be able to get land plots in the region for free.

With such statements, the occupiers are trying to recruit more people to serve in the army of the aggressor state. However, the real value of these promises is questionable. Balytsky admits that neither the mechanism nor the conditions for allocating land plots have been developed. Moreover, this land is promised to the participants of the armed aggression against Ukraine only after the war is over, which is a very uncertain prospect.

The initiative of the Zaporizhzhia gauleiter is another propaganda trick aimed at attracting more “cannon fodder” to the army of the aggressor state. Since the TOT of Zaporizhzhia region does not have the resources to pay war veterans, the occupiers are trying to entice people with a phantom promise that they can eventually “forget” about.
