russian shipbuilding is going downhill
The “khabarovsk shipbuilding yard” (ksy), by order of the “united shipbuilding corporation,” will lay off 70% of its workers due to a lack of orders.
▫️ The official order was signed by the company’s CEO, mikhail borovsky, on July 10, 2025. By October 31, the shipyard might be left with just about 90 employees (in 2023, it had over 500).
▫️The document states that the downsizing of one of the Far East’s largest shipyards is due to “lack of production volumes”.
As Center previously reported, the program for updating the civilian fleet, which russia widely advertised in 2023, has been slashed by over 40% due to chronic lack of funding.
Sanctions are working.
