How representatives of russian orthodox church justify war against Ukraine
Representatives of the russian orthodox church continue to serve the kremlin’s interests and publicly justify the war against Ukraine.
Metropolitan yevgeny of yekaterinburg and verkhoturye referred to the war in Ukraine as “treatment” on television, comparing the actions of the russian forces committing crimes in our country to “the work of a surgeon.”
▫️ These statements further demonstrate that the russian orthodox church’s activities have nothing to do with the Christian faith. For years, it has cooperated with russian special services and remains a tool of the kremlin to maintain power and control over the population.
▫️ Patriarch kirill of the russian orthodox church has repeatedly expressed support for the war against Ukraine, justifying it in his sermons. He has claimed that dying in the war “washes away all sins” and told russian soldiers they “should have no doubts about the righteousness of their chosen path.”
