Anti-Ukrainian propaganda in belarus. andrei mukovozchik

The CCD continues its series of reports about the main perpetrators of anti-Ukrainian propaganda in belarus. Another influential propagandist in the country is andrei mukovozchik, a writer and TV presenter.

For a long time, he hosted the “KVN” show on belarusian television, where he made sharp jokes, including some about lukashenko. However, his work in state propaganda is what really made him famous.

❗️mukovozchik’s finest hour as a propagandist came in 2020, during the anti-lukashenko protests. He was known for his extremely aggressive rhetoric towards the protesters, there were even reports to law enforcement agencies because of threats of physical violence. In fact, he was at the forefront of the repressions against the opposition, for which he received multiple journalistic awards from the authorities.

Speaking on TV, he fully endorses russia’s war against Ukraine, while denying russia’s terrorist attacks on civilian targets. His reflections on Ukraine are a stream of consciousness about “Nazism, Banderites, and Makhnovshchina” that “must be cut out.” In his opinion, this is precisely what russia is doing by waging war.
