Russians continue to seize property from residents of occupied territories
In the occupied Luhansk region, the enemy conducted another “inventory” and found 18,000 hectares of “ownerless” land. Officials of the occupation administration plan to use this land for construction.
The confiscation of land is part of Russia’s strategy to tighten its control over resources in the occupied territories. The Russians can hand over land taken from rightful owners to businesses loyal to the occupation regime, and the housing built on these plots will be occupied by Russians who are relocating to the TOT.
The Center has previously reported that Russians use similar practices in other occupied regions, confiscating “ownerless” apartments.
