Russia attempts to discredit peaceful protest
russian propagandists are spreading photos online from yesterday’s peaceful protest in Kyiv, where activists allegedly held posters with symbols of russian invasion.
The Center has verified the image and reports that it is a Photoshop creation designed to portray Ukrainians as ready to surrender. The actual poster had a completely different inscription.
russians are also spreading rumors that the Security Service of Ukraine is allegedly collecting information about participants in a peaceful demonstration in Dnipro in exchange for a pizza delivery promo code and other “valuable rewards.” This information is not true.
This information campaign is yet another attempt by russians to sow discord and division in Ukrainian society against the backdrop of sensitive issues.
