New russian AI campaign featuring “Ukrainians in Europe”
The Center has detected a new wave of TikTok videos generated with artificial intelligence, designed to mimic street interview formats.
▫️In these videos, “Ukrainians” who allegedly moved to Europe after the start of the full-scale war answer questions about the conflict. They claim that “Ukraine should fight as long as necessary,” oppose peace negotiations, and express pride in “the guys at the front.” At the same time, these same characters—mostly “men of mobilization age”—add that they themselves are “not made for war.”
All of these videos are fully AI-generated, and their dissemination shows signs of a coordinated information operation.
The aim of the campaign is to provoke internal division within Ukrainian society and to turn Ukrainians who remained in the country against those who left abroad.
▫️This is another example of how russia uses artificial intelligence technology in its information warfare. The primary objective of such campaigns is to destabilize public sentiment, undermine trust between different groups within Ukrainian society, and create internal conflicts.
Previously, the Center reported on similar AI-driven information operations featuring “ordinary Ukrainians” allegedly calling for concessions to russia or promoting the narrative of “peace at any cost”.
