Faces of russian propaganda in the TOT: tatiana konradi
The CCD continues its series of reports on the key figures of ru-propaganda in the occupied territories of Ukraine. Today, we spotlight tatiana konradi, a russian propagandist who leads the ZaMedia media holding in Melitopol, the primary propaganda tool of the kremlin in the TOT of the Zaporizhzhia region.
konradi began her journalism career in tomsk, russia, in the early 2000s. In 2005, she gained notoriety after being dismissed from a local TV channel for “violating labor discipline.” The controversy stemmed from a story she aired without editorial approval, which promoted a local politician from the “united russia” party. Subsequently, she worked as a regional correspondent for central russian TV channels.
Following russia’s 2014 invasion of Ukraine, konradi relocated to occupied Crimea, becoming editor-in-chief of the pro-russian STV24 TV channel in Sevastopol. In 2023, she took over the kremlin-created Za!TV channel in Melitopol, eventually rising to head the entire ZaMedia holding.
In addition to her media role, konradi secured a position in the occupation administration of the Zaporizhzhia region. As deputy head of the local “public chamber,” she played a key role in organizing illegal presidential elections in the TOT.
tatiana konradi’s propaganda efforts focus on portraying an illusion of a prosperous life under occupation. In numerous interviews, she refers to the forcible seizure of Ukrainian territories by russian troops as “reunification with russia” and assures local residents of a “bright future” under russian control.
