Why Putin wants to send Pushilin to Africa
Russian dictator Vladimir Putin announced during his “Direct Line” that Denis Pushilin, head of the occupation administration in the Donetsk region, is planning a visit to Africa.
Through such actions, the Kremlin aims to achieve several objectives:
▫️ To legitimize Russian gauleiters from the occupied territories of Ukraine by creating the illusion of their “international work” and “foreign support” for the occupation.
▫️ To spread Russian propaganda narratives across the African continent, using Kremlin-installed puppets from the temporarily occupied territories (TOT).
▫️ To build relations with African states that currently don’t have any Russian military bases. Recently, representatives from several such countries visited the occupied Donetsk region.
It is well known that certain African regimes are heavily reliant on Russia’s military presence to ensure their security. At the same time, Moscow is intensifying efforts to expand its influence on the continent, which is crucial for mitigating the impact of sanctions.
