How Russia spreads hatred towards the West among Muslims

Russian propaganda is actively leveraging the social network X to spread its narratives among the Arab population in the Middle East.

Notably, the Russian Arabic-language account on X, “Akhbar Rusia Alaitihadia” (news of the Russian Federation), frequently shares statements from Alexander Dugin, the ideologue of the “Russian world.”

Dugin’s rhetoric predominantly revolves around opposing the “hegemony of the West,” labeling Muslims who collaborate with democratic nations as “traitors to Islam,” and advocating for a “resistance movement.”

Through these efforts, Russia aims to amplify anti-Western sentiment in the Middle East and “unite” Muslims in a struggle against “Russia’s main enemy.”
