How Kremlin imposes its propaganda on Latin America
One of Chile’s TV channels has begun broadcasting content from the russian propaganda outlet russia today (RT), sparking public outrage across Chile. Many have spoken out about the inadmissibility of airing a “russian war channel” and spreading “russian propaganda.”
RT’s presence in Chile is now being publicly defended by russian foreign ministry spokesperson maria zakharova.
Since February 2022, RT has been blocked on social media across Latin America. To bypass these restrictions, kremlin is now attempting to push its propaganda content via television — not only in Chile, but in other countries in the region as well. Earlier, the Center reported an uptick in russian information and propaganda activity throughout Latin America.
