russian propaganda is spreading fabricated publications allegedly from French media about “mass fuel theft” by Ukrainian refugees in France.
▫️ Screenshots styled as news reports from well-known outlets La Montagne and ICI have appeared online. They claim that 12 Ukrainians were detained in Paris and several hundred across the country for “mass fuel theft from vehicles and its resale.”
In fact, both screenshots are fake and were created using graphic editing software. La Montagne and ICI did not publish any reports with such content.
The goal of this disinformation attack is to discredit Ukrainian refugees in Europe, portray them as “criminals,” and fuel anti-Ukrainian sentiment among French citizens.
