russia continues to choose war over steps towards peace

russian foreign minister sergey lavrov declared that the so-called “demilitarization and denazification of Ukraine,” the lifting of sanctions, the withdrawal of legal claims against russia, and the return of frozen assets must all be included in a future peace agreement. He also repeated manipulative narratives about the “discrimination of russian speakers” and “NATO threats” — classic justifications russia uses for its armed aggression against Ukraine.

Instead of accepting the full and comprehensive ceasefire proposed by the U.S. and supported by Ukraine as a first step toward peace, the kremlin continues pushing absurd propaganda about “denazification” and the “root causes of the war,” while presenting Ukraine and its partners with deliberately unacceptable conditions. Once again, moscow proves it is not interested in peace. With its so-called “peace rhetoric,” kremlin is trying to deceive the international community and buy time to prolong the war.
