RT is running a large-scale propaganda campaign in Italian cities
russia has launched an aggressive advertising campaign for its propagandist documentaries in Italian cities — Rome, Milan, and Bologna. RT posters featuring the slogan “They ban the truth — we show it!” have sparked outrage among Italian politicians and members of the public.
▫️In classic propaganda style, russia attempts to portray the fight against disinformation as “truth censorship.” The goal is to sow doubt among European audiences regarding freedom of speech. This tactic aligns with kremlin’s broader strategy — disguising lies as alternative viewpoints.
These films are yet another attempt to legitimize russian propaganda within the European information space. Although RT is officially banned in the EU, it seeks to bypass restrictions through local projects, media intermediaries, and hybrid operating formats.
Notably, Vincenzo Lorusso — a journalist who was among the participants of a russia-organized press tour to the temporarily occupied territories of Ukraine — is actively involved in the campaign.
