▫️ These statements are yet another attempt to impose an alternative reality in which russia supposedly seeks peace and is ready for dialogue, but is “prevented” from doing so. This is a typical kremlin tactic to justify its continued military aggression against Ukraine in the eyes of the international community.
In reality, it is moscow that systematically sabotages any genuine steps toward de-escalation. This rhetoric tries to divert attention from russia’s refusal to engage in dialogue, which only confirms that russia does not want peace, but is dragging out the war. Ukraine officially proposed a complete and comprehensive ceasefire to russia back on March 11, yet the kremlin continues to ignore this initiative and persists with its terrorist shelling of Ukrainian cities.
