russian propaganda is attempting to change the nature of its disinformation campaign about alleged “atrocities by the AFU in kursk region” in order to expand its reach.
▫️After a flood of false claims about supposed crimes by Ukrainian soldiers, which lacked any evidence and failed to make an impression on the global audience, ru-propaganda began spreading messages of a different nature, aimed at provoking an emotional response, particularly sympathy.
The Center is recording a wave of messages featuring video clips of elderly women telling propagandists how hard life supposedly was “under Ukrainian occupation.” These videos usually focus on food shortages, with lines like: “a woman from kursk region hadn’t eaten bread for seven months” or “villagers survived only thanks to a cow.” At the same time, the women shown in these clips do not appear emaciated and look completely normal, despite the alleged “famine.”
The goal of this kremlin campaign remains unchanged — to discredit Ukraine and shift attention away from the documented crimes of the russian army.
