How russia Spreads Its Propaganda Worldwide Under the Guise of Education
The russian state propaganda broadcaster RT has announced enrollment for a new training course for foreign journalists and bloggers. It is emphasized that this course is “open to everyone,” with the only requirement being proficiency in English.
▫️ Such educational initiatives have a clear objective—to integrate foreign journalists into russia’s information ecosystem and promote kremlin narratives in the international media space. RT has previously conducted training programs for Asia and Africa, and the launch of this new course confirms its intention to expand its influence on global media processes, particularly in the Global South.
Officially, these courses are presented as training in journalistic standards, but in reality, they serve as a tool for legitimizing russian propaganda and expanding its audience abroad. RT’s courses are yet another instrument of information warfare and a means of increasing russia’s global influence through “soft power.”
