France is stepping up its efforts to counter russian propaganda
French authorities have deported ksenia fedorova, the former head of RT France, after deeming her activities a threat to national security.
The decision states that fedorova’s activities were part of russian information operations aimed at destabilizing society and fueling distrust in state institutions.
RT is one of the key tools of russian state propaganda, systematically used to spread manipulative narratives and exert informational influence on foreign audiences. Currently, the broadcaster’s operations are restricted in most EU countries.
Previously, the Center also reported that EU countries are systematically restricting the activities of russian agents of influence, particularly individuals associated with the russian propaganda outlet RT. In addition, russian diplomats are regularly expelled from European countries on suspicion of intelligence activities and participation in other hybrid operations.
The French government’s decision demonstrates that European countries are increasingly viewing russian propaganda as a component of information aggression, and its organizers and participants as a threat to national security.
