EU approves 16th package of sanctions against russia
On the third anniversary of the full-scale invasion of Ukraine, EU approved the 16th sanctions package against russian federation.
▫️The new sanctions list includes, among other things, restrictions on the operations of a number of russian federation propagandistic media. In particular, EU suspended the licenses for EADaily/Eurasia Daily, Fondsk, Lenta, NewsFront, RuBaltic, Krasnaya Zvezda/Tvzvezda and other Kremlin-controlled media.
The Center, together with its partners, submitted proposals regarding kremlin propagandists. These proposals were taken into account. Thus, individual propagandists were included in the sanctions list, including kristina potupchyk, who manages networks of russian propagandistic channels on TG. The Center did everything to ensure that she was included in this list.
▫️In total, the 16th sanctions package provides restrictions for 48 individuals and 35 organizations responsible for actions that undermine or threaten the territorial integrity, sovereignty and independence of Ukraine. New sanctions have been imposed against the “shadow fleet” of russian federation, companies that support the russian defense industry, a number of russian banks, etc.
The Center, together with its partners, continues to identify individuals engaged in propaganda for inclusion in subsequent sanctions packages.
