An interesting pattern has been revealed after almost a year of the «special operation». Some of the resounding defeats were the result of the unprofessionalism of the military leadership of the russian federation. However, there are no loud resignations or suicides of guilty generals. To understand the reason for this situation, let’s analyze the defeats of the russian elite during the «SMO».

🔸 Sinking of the cruiser «Moskva»

On April 13, 2022, the Neptune cruise missile hit the Moskva missile cruiser, which became russia’s most expensive loss because of the cost of the ship ($750 million) and image losses. After all, the cruiser personified russian military power and was widely publicized by russian propaganda during the capture of Zmiinyi Island. Society expected from putin the resignation and arrest of the commander of the Black Sea Fleet of the russian federation, i.osipov, especially since such signals were made even after a Ukrainian missile hit the amphibious assault ship «Saratov» in the port of Berdyansk. However, the kremlin once again ignored public opinion, osipov resigned only after the Ukrainian attack on the air base near the Crimean village of Novofedorivka on August 9. However, the resignation wasn’t publicly commented on, the investigation of the attack on the airfield, as well as the attack on the cruiser «Moskva» wasn’t reported.

🔸 Underwater drone attack on Sevastopol Bay

On October 29, as a result of the largest attack by Ukrainian underwater drones since the beginning of the «SMO», 4 ships of the Black Sea Fleet in the Sevastopol Bay, including the flagship of the Black Sea Fleet, the frigate «Admiral Makarov», suffered damage. Traditionally, neither an investigation nor personnel conclusions were made, although the bay open to attack by submarines from the sea is undoubtedly the result of negligence of the leadership of the fleet. No sanctions were applied to commander v.sokolov.

  🔸 «Regrouping» in the Kharkiv region

The retreat of the russian armed forces in the Kharkiv region is considered the biggest defeat of the russian army since its retreat in March from the direction of Kyiv. During September 6-8, Ukrainian troops went on the offensive and took control of more than 3,000 square kilometers of territory. As a result, russia gave up not only military, but also political claims to the Kharkiv region. At the same time, the russian political and military leadership behaved completely inappropriately, ignoring the very fact of «trouble» at the front. Only on September 10, the Ministry of Defense of the russian federation called the retreat from the Kharkiv region a «regrouping», which allowed the military leadership to avoid the investigation.

    🔸  Detonation of the Crimean bridge

On the morning of October 8, two spans of the canvas collapsed as a result of a truck detonation on the automobile part of the Crimean Bridge. This time, the investigative committee of russia, although it opened a criminal case, almost immediately announced the organizer of the sabotage of the Defense Intelligence of Ukraine of the Ministry of Defense of Ukraine and its head, K.Budanov. As in previous cases, neither the border guards nor the leadership of the Ministry of Transport, whose departmental security department allowed a truck with explosives to enter the strategic facility, were held accountable.

🔸 Strikes on air bases of the russian federation.

On December 5, Ukrainian Tu-141 Strizh UAV hit the Engels-2 airbase in the saratov region and the Diaghilev airbase in the ryazan region. Despite relatively small losses, russia suffered significant image damage, because it turned out that Ukrainian troops can strike far deep into the territory of the russian federation, including on the elements of the russian nuclear triad. However, there were no reports of an investigation into the incident or a resignation from the Air Force Command in connection with the incident.

🔸 Hit on Makiivka

On the night of January 1, as a result of a HIMARS rocket attack, the deployment point of russian mobilized troops in the city of Makiivka was destroyed. Only according to official data, the number of dead was 89 people, independent sources speak of several hundreds. Although the officials of the Ministry of Defense of the russian federation have started an investigation, the preliminary results shift the responsibility to those mobilized through the use of mobile phones.

Evidently, the initiator of evading public punishment of those responsible for the resounding failures of the russian army is putin himself. He is afraid of investigations into the defeats of the russian army in the «SMO», because in such an investigation you can «come out on yourself». After all, by dismissing an official involved in some military defeat, putin also admits his own guilt, which damages his image as a leader. In addition, due to the personnel shortage, putin simply has no spare candidates to replace the guilty generals. And putin is afraid to put the creatures of prigozhina/kadyrov in their place, because it clearly threatens conspiracy and state rebellion.
