On November 10-11, 2023, Donbas Media Forum 2023 was held, an annual conference that brings together journalists and media managers from Ukraine and the world to discuss current issues of the profession and establish communication.
In his speech, Andriy Shapovalov, acting director of the Center for Countering Disinformation, analyzed the key messages of the russian disinformation campaign aimed at residents of the temporarily occupied territories.
А. Shapovalov emphasized that in these territories, the occupation authorities are trying to block Ukrainian media and social networks, establish a regime of information isolation to promote their narratives and impose the standards of the “russian world.”
At the same time, A. Shapovalov noted that people in the occupied territories, despite all the difficulties, are eager to receive truthful information about events in Ukraine and the world.
The participants of the event were shown a number of films by Ukrainian and foreign documentary filmmakers.
