Campaign by russia about «women’s mobilisation in Ukraine»: a new fake
russian propaganda has launched a new fake as part of a disinformation campaign about the «mobilisation of women in Ukraine».
Screenshots allegedly taken from Ukrainian websites and showing contextual advertisements on behalf of the Armed Forces of Ukraine featuring women in military uniforms and the slogan «Now it’s your turn. Show your superpower» are being spread on social media and hostile Telegram-channels. Propagandists claim that society is allegedly being «gradually prepared for women’s mobilisation» in this way.
In reality, no such advertising campaign exists, and the screenshots being circulated are fake. Ukrainian media outlets and websites have not published such banners.
This is another stage of russia’s long-running disinformation campaign. For example, the enemy recently spread a similar fake about advertisements for military service for housewives on the streets of Ukrainian cities.
The enemy’s goal is to artificially create a sense of the «inevitability of forced mobilisation of women», sow anxiety and discredit voluntary recruitment into the Defence Forces.
We emphasise: women’s mobilisation is neither taking place nor planned in Ukraine. Women join the Defence Forces exclusively on a voluntary basis. There are no legislative initiatives, draft laws or internal discussions in Ukraine concerning the mobilisation of women.
