The kremlin covers up massive strikes on Ukraine with fake «peacemaking»
Against the backdrop of new russian strikes on Kyiv, putin’s press secretary dmitry peskov claimed that russia is allegedly «ready to make peace» and seeks to «resolve the conflict peacefully».
The kremlin spokesman once again tried to shift responsibility for continuing the war onto Ukraine, saying that everything allegedly depends on Kyiv, which «lacks flexibility». Attempting to portray russia as the «constructive side», peskov also said that russia «welcomes the efforts of American negotiators».
It is telling that peskov made these statements during yet another drone attack on Kyiv, while the night before, russia had launched a massive missile strike on the Ukrainian capital, killing and injuring civilians. Notably, the kremlin carried out these massive attacks immediately after visits by American negotiators to Kyiv and moscow.
In reality, Kyiv consistently supports a peaceful settlement and has repeatedly expressed its readiness for negotiations in any effective format. The only real obstacle to achieving a just peace remains russia itself, which continues to commit war crimes and attempts to impose its ultimatums through terror and missile strikes.
