Propaganda for children: russian schools to screen 83 films about the war
The russian authorities are systematically expanding war propaganda among children, turning school education into an instrument of total ideological indoctrination and the militarization of the younger generation.
▫️ Starting in 2026, russian schoolchildren are expected to be required to watch a series of 83 “patriotic” short films, including films about participants in the war against Ukraine. According to russian education minister sergei kravtsov, the films will be shown to students from the 6th grade onward during the propagandistic “conversations about important things” sessions and the “spiritual and moral culture of russia” course. The minister claims that these films will help instill “traditional values” in children and provide them with “role models.”
Forcing children to watch films promoting war is part of the kremlin’s long-term strategy to militarize children. The putin regime seeks to shape a distorted perception of reality among teenagers, in which aggressive war is presented as normal and participation in it as the right path in life.
